Number of Awards: Four (4) bursary scholarships, valued at $989 each
Application Deadline: Friday, October 10th, 2025, by midnight EDT
Award Presentation: The scholarship winners will be announced at the 19th annual National Pharmaceutical Congress on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Mississauga Convention Centre. (Winners should be notified by October 13, 2025)
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational/Professional Status:
• Recent university graduates (within the last two years) OR
• Professionals new to the pharmaceutical workforce (less than three years of experience) - Career Focus:
• Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the Canadian life sciences industry - Academic Background:
• Degree in a field relevant to the Life Sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Business, Finance, Marketing, etc.) - Residency:
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident - Availability:
• Able to attend the 19th National Pharmaceutical Congress on November 4, 2025, in Mississauga - First-time Attendee:
• Priority is given to those who have not previously attended the National Pharmaceutical Congress - Application Process
Interested candidates should submit the following documents to Advancing Black Talent in Pharma (ABTiP) by Friday, October 10, 2025:
• Resume/CV
• Personal statement outlining: (1) some unique aspects of yourself (what makes them stand out); (2) your career goals and (3) why this Bursary is of interest to you. ( limit: 1 page)

Recipients will be chosen based on:
• Demonstrated leadership potential
• Commitment to advancing diversity in the Life Sciences
• Must be an ABTiP member

This bursary scholarship program underscores the National Pharmaceutical Congress’s commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the pharmaceutical industry. By supporting talented Black professionals at the start of their careers, we aim to contribute to a more diverse and innovative future for the sector.
Note: There will be a briefing session on October 21st for the 4 bursary recipients. You will learn more about the congress, what to expect, who you could potentially meet, and we will answer any questions you have.
